The students are continuing to work on reading and counting rhythms for the melody of “Send My Love”. They have nearly mastered the counting for the verse and bridge so they will be learning the chorus shortly. They also recently started learning “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes. The students are really excited about this song!

The students are continuing to work hard on reading and counting rhythms for “Send My Love”. They are working a lot on counting and clapping rhythms without a guitar so they can master this without the difficulty of playing the music simultaneously on guitar. There are some difficult parts in regards to counting the rhythms but they are making progress. We also recently started learning “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes which the students seem very eager to master!
The students sound really good on the theme from Beethoven’s Symphony #9. They have been working a lot on listening to each other so they play with precision as a group. The ensemble is continuing to work on “Landslide”. They are playing the verse really well but the interludes are proving to be quite a challenge due to changing fingerstyle patterns and awkward chord shapes. They will get there, though! Hayley, Cece, and Elsie have started to learn the vocal harmonies for the chorus of "Closer to Fine". It is really exciting to hear them do this, their voices are blending well together! They are making good progress on their additional music for the chamber music concert on February 15th, which should be a great program!
